Attention All GameMecca Members

Due to some recent member registration abuse, we are being forced to implement email verification for all new members. Recently. we were forced to lock/delete a large number of posts due to their blatant spam (5MB of smilies) or insulting nature by brand new members.

What's more disturbing is that the IPs for these "new" members traced back to already existing members. Please note that your IP and subnet is logged when you register and post. IP spoofing programs do not work on this board, so don't embarrass yourself.

The people that have these IPs have been warned. Consider it your only warning. You will be banned if this continues no matter how established you are in this community.

GameMecca has had an outstanding start and is well on its way to being a blockbuster gaming site and I thank all of you. 99.5% of you can ignore this message. The others should heed this warning before you're left at the dock.

I know that it is fairly common to have 2 or more members here be part of the same family, and therefore use the same computer and/or IP address. It would be a shame to have one family member ruin it for the rest. I can think of at least one situation *cough*[size=9:cdead65d12]Poenix+Cetti_Bum/Skywalker[/size:cdead65d12]*cough* were this could conceivably happen.

I actually have no idea who SALvation is actually talking about. I guess I'm just thinking out loud. :)

LOL! I posted that last post BEFORE I read the locked thread where Skywalker apparently was trashing Phoenix. Did I call that one or what! LOL! Sometimes I scare myself. :P

dont worry, I already know what to do...the reason the IP is the same is because we are at school and we use on T3 line, sharing the same IP. Tommorow, when I am at school, I will log on with the username "phoenix2", ban that ip, that way all the computers will be banned and I will still be able to post from home...

As for banning your school IP, wont't you have to ban the subnet? Each puter there has it's own IP addy, but then no one would be able to access the forums from school. Not sure about an admin, have heard before an admin banned himself and couldn't get back in. Sal, you have the hack for not being able to ban admin installed here??
