I play first person in Serious Sam.
A major handicap I have when I play people who use third person is the blinding red screen that makes seeing your opponent virtually impossible.
(the flying gibs people who use third see is distracting as well).
I know that the blinding red screen can be disabled but don't know how to do it?
So how do you do it???????????

I have no idea, but yes.. it sucks big time.
I played around with some of the settings but I couldn't get rid of it. The blood spray is the man reason I started using 3rd person. Unfortunatley if you are standing with your back too close to a wall it switches back to 1st person. So sometimes in corridors in some of the indoor maps I end up fighting in 1st person anyway. :WTF:

I usually aim for the head with rockets, so it gives them a small blind.

Do you play 1.05 or 1.07? I don't recall seeing you on the servers. (I play 1.07).

I think you should try aiming for the feet. The screen turns red no matter where you get hit, it only depends on how much damage you take.

What does aiming for the feet do for you? The big problem is when YOU get hit and your own blood spray is right in front of you.

Which do you think is easier; hitting a moving target in the head with a rocket, or shooting a rocket at the floor under their feet and so they get hit by the really big explosion? If you're using a rocket launcher you should always be aiming for the floor under them or a wall right next to them. Much easier to hit people that way.
How 'bout turning the color all the way down on your video card and playing in black and white. Then you should get a gray screen of death. Better visually??? Hmmmm... :hmmm:

Oh. Never mind. I thought we were talking about blood spray which is a major problem in shotty battles. Yep, you're right. Rockets should be shot at the feet of the opposing player.

I don't know why people play in 1st person anyway..
the advantages with 3rd person:
You can see all around you
Best for screen shotz
If some dick head somes up behind you with the knife just turn around and spash them.. :drink:
