A few months ago I mentioned this chipset to a few here that were interested in building a media station. Now there are boards available for the 100 dollar mark which is outstanding. I will be ordering one today to fool around with.
Now for those that already bought the new spider platform, I want you to make note that this chipset has the newer SB700 chip. It's a much better solution than the SB600. If interested make note of the hybrid crossfire. One thing that you may find cool is tha if you decide to install a 3x series video card also in the system, the chipset will switch to integrated when in 2d mode to save power.
To be honest I have used the 690g boards for these kinds of systems and they work great already. Now it has even a netter integrated chip that you actually have the ability to play some of the newer titles. It looks as if AMD has been busting their ass lately because from what I hear the bugs are fixed in their quad chips and will be shipping B3 stepping soon along with their 45nm technology. They also have a newer video card coming out which is suppose to be extremely fast and run much lower voltage.

To think you can put a simple system together with this for around 300 bucks is amazing. Maybe cheaper.
