An end to an era. I wonder if this shall affect the direction of Microsoft?
Thoughts, Comments, Complaints?

I have 2 thoughts....
1. I hope this does change Microsoft's direction/culture.
2. If what we've seen from Ballmer over the past 6-12 months is any indication of the future, we may have seen our last appealing desktop OS from the company.

I have to agree. Vista was a wash and so were the latest office apps. I am actually looking forward to alternatives atthis point to change the marj=ket a bit. It's always the same old thing and I belive due to this we are not progressing. I said probably a year ago we were switching to an appliance era and I still believe that to be true. Boot up the hardware and it logs on to a google os.
