Drive-ins. What amazing memories I have of them.

Taking your girlfriend to the drive-in, watching 10 minutes of the movie and then moving to the back seat. 45 minutes later coming up for air and realizing that the windows are all fogged up because it's 70 degrees F and 50% RH outside, and it's 85 degrees F and 90% humidity inside. That was cool, that meant we had privacy. Until you turn around and see the opposing footprints on the window behind you. :D

I've got a drive-in about 2 1/2 , maybe 3 miles from my house..been there countless times with the kids over the years.
Ahaa..back in the 70's and early 80's, they used to show the XXX movies..on an outdoor screen 50 ft high...now that was somethin !! :thumbs:

There were two XXX-rated drive-ins within driving distance when I was in my later teens and early 20s. One was about 15 minutes away and was a total hole. You didn't go into the bathrooms. You just didn't. :eek:

The other was about a 40 minute drive, was way the hell out in the middle of nowhere, and was literally run by a mom and pop couple. They kept the bathrooms clean you weren't afraid to eat the popcorn.

I remember the first time I took my girlfriend there. It was Sunday, and every Sunday was "drag night". If you drag your girlfriend there then she got in free. :D

Ha, the first time we went there she lasted about 10-15 minutes before she freaked out, started yelling at me, and insisted that we leave. The ride home to her apartment was less then pleasant. Funny how 40 minutes can seem like days.

Once we got settled back in her apartment I'm pretty sure I would have had basis for bringing sexual assault charges against her. Yeah, it was that good. And sure enough, the very next Sunday she suggested trying the drive-in again. The following Monday I spent most of the day wiping the footprints off of the inside of every window in the car. :D
