Left 4 Dead Crashing Problem

Have been having trouble with Left 4 Dead and to a certain extent TF2 for a while now. Final verdict was the video card drivers seem to be buggy in the newest release. At least for me and my 8800GTX. I rolled back to version 178 and haven't had any issues yet. Took me a while to find the solution, ergo i offer it up to you guys.

Can you be more specific about the bugs (when does it occur, what happens, error message etc.), I also had problems with the graphiccard drivers though the new update fixed it all :D
