Check out this site - these guys are really impressive.
It's a group that both develops new games and teaches others to create games.
They use and teach the Unreal Development Kit and do it very, very well.
They also have a December Promo going on - learn to create a game in 3 1/2 hours.
I know one of these guys and believe me, they absolutely know their stuff.
