or you can build one much cheaper. :)
The graphics card is not ATi best, which I would expect at that pricepoint.

Here's a pretty current comparison of Video Cards.

Just ATI Cards:

Note that some things kind of go out the window in my opinion, since you are shopping Canada. I've no idea how tech prices compare there.

I can only say I bought a PC from these folks and I loved it. Zero problems at all. Some others appear to have had issues.

I'd have to agree with Jim on this, a lot cheaper and more satisfying to build yourself. The computer doesn't come with a monitor kbd or mouse ?

wait for end of march before getting the card, I think the next gen should be out about then and you might see either better prices or better performance.

Good games to test and run because of the graphical and processor power required are:

Crysis
Shattered Horizon
the new stalker (uses the new directx 11)
Cryostasis

I'd get a set of Klipsch. Just read a review in maximumPC and they rated their 2.1s a 9 out of 10. I have their older 5.1s for like 5 years and they sound just like the day I bought them, and they are loud!!

I have the Logitech Z-2300 set and they're really decent for the money.

your putting doubt on which speakers to buy....

these look cool too and have good reviews...

.... and I have to choose a game to try... mass effect 2 seems good but havent played 1... bioshock 2 same problem... borderlands seems ok but graphics seem cartoony...

any suggestions ?? ...need FPS style... not too much fiddling around reading pages of mission info..

Nick, did you end up getting this machine or what? I would love to see some benchmarks.

If you did not, I will say that was a smarter move because that is just way too expensive for a system today that won't do squat for gaming. If anything, today, the most important thing in a system is your Video Card. If anything, spend your money on a good one of those. You will get a lot out of a better card in a weaker system than a more advanced system with a weaker card.

5870? I read the specs and it said 5850 I thought. If you got the upgrade, how much more was it?

As far as Benchmarks, run 3dmark06 for starters.
