Figured out what the hell was going on with my puter and the router situation. My roommate acutally found it, but when he opened a chat program and viewed a profile and then opened IE, he couldn't connect to anything. Well he brought his laptop home and when he couldn't connect with the desktop, he tried with the laptop, all worked fine. He then closed out ZoneAlarm, and he could connect back, without having to reboot anything.

ZA has been taken out of the start up folder for now, and soon to be deleted :wootrock: I am so happy now :D

I have never needed ZA with my LinkSys router. Every probe test I've taken on the internet has not been able to penetrate it. It doesn't even see a computer at my IP.

 Gald to hear you figured it out. The only thing ZA is good for if you have a router is outgoing traffic such as phone home stuff. I have a linksys also and never used ZA.

well I didn't have a router for the longest time, and my roommate got a laptop from work, and brings it home so he can access all the drives at work and do stuff at home and send it there, and have it be there when he gets to work. And rather then unplugging from the cable modem all the time, and if I wanted to use the puter too, we got a router. Now that we have one, I am working on building my own system, which I think is going to take for ever :bawling:

I know how you feel about the new puter. I have been wanting to upgrade for a long time now. Finally get the money together and Newegg is out of some of the parts I want. :bandhead:

lol that sucks. I think by the time I get my case and all of the stuff that won't change ya know, I will probably have the money to get something I really want, and find out it won't fit in my case. It always happens like that to me :WTF:

you did, but I must have skipped over that zone alarm part. Plus what d link told me, and the puter guy at work, and a few people online. I had a huge list, other then the huge list you gave me ;) Thanks by the way. I just finally got to the zone alarm part :bandhead: Next time, I will know to go to that first :D

Actually no, about an hour, but I am a noob with creating that stuff. Now that I know how, won't take long. ;)
