Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Wow, I'm guessing that was a big-assed mortar shell to be able to do that. :(

Interestingly, in Ohio, the sale of any federally legal fireworks is legal. To anyone over 18. However, it is illegal to set off fireworks in Ohio, so you have to sign a paper that says you will take them out of state to set them off. It's also illegal to transport fireworks (explosives, which is anything beyond simple firecrackers and sparklers) across the Ohio state line without a permit. Figure that one out, and guess what actually happens. :rolleyes:

Same as New Hampshire.

Fireworks are legal there, so all of us in New England go there to buy 'em...Real convenience for us out-of-staters, all the fireworks stores are just over the NH border !:thumbs:

Last I knew though, it was legal to blow them off there but we couldn't :rolleyes: take them back to Connecticut...shhhhhh:o
