FASTway - you fit in very nicely with the original MERC members, as does Halo. When the MERCs first formed they were absolutely legendary. Untouchable by all but a few. Think about it - the MERCs I mentioned previously, PLUS Hammer and Machine. Crimmany!

I was just daydreaming a bit about watching certain annoying players around here..cough.G|Star.cough...getting crushed by players they could never hope to beat.

MERC is still strong, but they are much fewer than they used to be. And now with Hammer, Machine, and Epheremerion, and with several of the other Outlaws becoming VERY strong opponents, the balance of power has, well, balanced out a great deal since the old days. And no, I'm not talking about myself. I consider it a very lucky day if I beat a MERC. :wink:

It may seem like less of the mercs play, but except for HADES we all pop in from time to time to frag it up on the jerc servers.

Unfortunately, SAM is now an old game that has zero support from the developer.

I think SAM was shortchanged by Croteam.
The patch will be its last chance. :?:

Well, yeah, that's why a lot of players left, including me. Heh, but lag can be a prob on AVP too. But I guess that's the difference between MERC and OUTLAWS. The social tie keeps us together no matter who's playing what, or even if someone isn't gaming at all. Um, no offence intended to the MERCs.

No doubt! The patch is taking way too long. Many have strayed from SS. Including me. But I just meant that I wish the MERCs would have stayed more active on the forums. And with the responsibilities of GameMecca, even Sal and DL don't post as MERCs very often. Although DL has made quite a comeback today! :D

I hope I'm not coming across as having anything but respect for the MERCs. You guys were the major motivators in the establishment of all the clans we have today. And I hope to see all the MERC members gather as a single force again in the future. That would be sweet. :D

I think that SAL and LEV did a lot on establishing a (early) community for Sam.

And the community developed further from that.

LOL! That is absolutely true. Of course they approached the task in their own special MERC way and stirred up a lot of people along the way. LOL!

I am proud to say that I was there from the beginning to watch the transformation. I must also credit Shogun and the original Outlaws with playing a major role too. Shogun immerged as a leader early in the development of the clans and offered a "kinder, gentler way". :wink:

It was Shogun's approach to running a clan that suckered, um erm, I mean, ENTICED me to join the Outlaws. :D

Yea Sal and I don't really post much as MERCS anymore. We really have left a lot of responsibility to our other members to take charge and make MERC continue onward. GameMecca is so very important to us and everyone that we must maintain out full attention to it.

The MERC clan will be back and in full force once again once the 3rd patch comes out or the next installment of Sam, whichever comes first. At that time you can bet for sure all of you will be deemed prey once again and perish to the might of our killing prowess.

As for the troubles we started back in the day: Those of course were purely intentional and were developed to spark rivalry and competition. We were all becoming to nice to each other and the game was losing its meaning. So in typical MERC fashion we sparked a bitter war with the Outlaws (our once good friends). The war lasted quite some time but eventually the two clans called a truce and decided to ascend to our higher calling.. that which is GAMEMECCA!!!! :)

But fear not prey, the MERCS are still here and at times you will see us spill blood in servers even before you know what hit you. All our clans will grow strong once again, we just need a reason to open up the clan wars again. There really is no real good game other than sam that we all agree upon playing together. I am positive that Outlaws, Gods, DOA, MERCS, etc. will all be back and in force in the coming year. Just be prepared. The Sam Clans will be back!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I know we don't post much as MERCs anymore but we are still here and always watching. I actually loaded up Sam for the first time in weeks and I immediately got a f9. I really hope that a patch comes out soon. If it does, you will definitely see me back. Otherwise we will just have to wait until a sequel for the MERCs to return to their full force.
