My Opinion of Bones (originally on Seriously)

Having watched a few of his games (and most of the current top players) there are definitely a few here who could compete (well, in my humble opinion). Not many, but a handful definitely. He IS awesome (and yes for my money the best i've seen), but i agree with the thought that he came about at a time when many were but learning, and while i still think he would win most of his games, some of you guys would get a couple in, and indeed compete quite handsomely every game.

But consider this: Given his "legend", can you imagine the pressure he will be playing under when the patch IS finally released?! I mean jesus.

Rodzilla told me yesterday he is NOT Bones. But that could be a lie or a coverup.

As for Bones the player. Like I said I took him a few game back when he was at his peak. I know my skills were NOT as they are today. Given the fact I and ALL OF US play constantly and he doesn't, I believe his skills would not be in match with ours now.

Hell even Phoenix probably could beat him! hehehe!

On a side note then, and assuming he is not Bones, DOES Rodzilla play? Given the skill factor Hammer mentioned that would be interesting. I mean, you'd think he of all people would occasionally "dabble" in a fragmatch or three. (Or indeed any of its creators.)

Was playing in Lost Tomb and had accumulated 28 frags when "the man" entered. By the time i reached 35 and won HE had almost 30! Watching the game back he ended with about 8 deaths, NONE of which were from direct confrontation, but rather rockets coming from the side or someone interrupting a shotty duel from behind etc.

Next up i joined Fortress to find him 16-0 up. <chuckle> Admittedly no top players in there (playing on there were about 2 others at MY skill level). Anyway he quit shortly after due to lag. And on that topic he was definitely lagged (as least as bad as mine i suppose, but i hardly have the luxury of a disconnect calling from down under).

Doesn't all that just make your challenge to him on Seriously that much more anxious? <devious grin>

Believe what you want... I never said I was the greatest. I start every game with no expectations. Everybody was a newbie, myself included. I didn't even play fragmatch in SS1. We shall see when (if :?:) the new patch comes out. I wouldn't discount myself so readily. And I'm not Rodzilla. That's just a bad guess. I'm like you guys, just playing SS2.

What challenge is that? At this time SS2 is not installed. My IBM HD developed a bad sector a couple of weeks ago. Did anybody get the WD 120GB 7200 for $100 after rebate at Circuit City? Nice. Very.

If you want to be "the best" (a foolish title to covet in my opinion), just play the game and people will label you accordingly.

There are mixed opinions about it. it is really stressful on your computer. I think the graphics are really good. If you have cable or DSL download the demo and give it a try. We usually have at least one Gamemecca.net server up all the time thanks to Slash and Hammer.

I've improved a lot since the last time he surfaced, i would love to see if i could actually get in a frag or two in on him. Bones, The net code patch SHOULD (still not set in stone, sigh) be out within the next month or two according to croteam :), come by play a few games when it's done, we'd enjoy the company, not a lot of vets play anymore :(
