This just happend, and we shut down our boards because of it. It looks to be an attempt to hack in to our forums and GODS thought we would warn GM. Buckshot and I both saw it at the same time. I will be contacting Invision Power Boards about it and taking all necessary precautions. This ip that showed up is completely fake. The real ip is logged and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent!

Ha. That's why I couldn't get on your forums. I was on for one post, then when I tried to post again it said that everything was a protected forum and kept asking me to put in my ID and password, but it wouldn't take it. Has my ID and password been comprimised? :unsure:

can you pm me the IP&#39;s if you have them, that way they can be blocked/banned from here. Good work Slice :thumbs:

If the IP is bogus then it probably won&#39;t do much good. I don&#39;t understand how you can have a bogus IP in the first place, but then I don&#39;t know diddly about this kinda stuff anyway. :WTF:

The baning of one&#39; s IP&#39;s is useless and pointless. Its&#39; quite easy to determine if its fake by applying a certain measure. Also Its&#39; soo damn simple to change one&#39;s IP with ease. And it did be hard to track down the individual if they were on stealthly/highly anounymous settings...I Wont go any more further then this :shifty:

there is always a way of finding ones ip. although it may be some work but it&#39;s traceable. it actually can be traced from mac address. now if the person is using an invalid ip the person is most likely ghosting an ip address. one day we all will have to have secure connections that is a liscensed address that tell the admins who you are but that may be years away. this will be a blessing for security unless you frequent porn sites. i think the new technology will actually be built into the processors such like the p3 had which many people got mad becasue of privacy. i think it&#39;s coming back which will be the start of bigger brother.
