thats my exact video card!!! maker and all.....except it's @20 cheaper than christmas :bawling: i like it....although it has the long memory and the highest stable O/C i got it to was 274/566 if i feel that core when i'm playing battlefield, it's reallly hot so i think the cooler on it sucks....you might be able to get the memory higher than that but i didn't try....i might later....nice price for the card though and you get what you pay for....there are no games included btw...do dvi to vga....or cables for that matter....just the card in an antistatic bag, the manual, and drivers....thats it! there is like have to 3/4 of the box still open to put stuff....waste of trees...

I saw that, and Best buy's $9.99 48X CD-RW drive. I'd do that just for a spare drive. That card is a lot of 3D power for 80 bucks. I paid $230 for my 4400.

:hmmm: tempting, but how much better than a G-3 Ti200? :WTF: Dissectional said there wasn't much difference, was he correct? Money is real tight but the new maps for UT are pigs! I just dropped to 16 bit resolution to smooth the game out! :bandhead:

How much is the G-3 going for, though....can it beat this deal?

Pricewatch has the G-3 for $72.00. I paid $69 for mine about 4 months ago. I noticed a huge difference from my G-2 mx card. I'm afraid that I may not notice a difference if I go to the G-4 ti 4200.

Just waiting to here from the big brains before I go collecting cans to make the upgrade.

Personally I don't see the reason to upgrade from a GF3TI200 to this card. With a new generation only weeks away, save your money and watch the prices fall this spring. Hopefully by then you can snag a Radeon 9500 PRO or a GF4 4800.

gf3ti200 is a good card and is running doa server at the moment. the gf4ti4200 is a better card and will give 25% boost in performance. the price seems pretty good and worth it. you can always sell your gf3 to someone looking for a decent card.

my suggestion is if you are heavy gamer and really want to get a good card when you have enough money, save up and buy the ati9700 or 9500. the prices for those cards are very reasonable considering the part you are getting. if you are broke and need an update this deal maybe for you but if you ned a little more time to save do that or steal it from your parents.

I was waiting for your reply ME BIGGD01! Money is a problem for me and I decided to hold off on the vid card and invested in more ram instead.

On the 9500 card, are you talking about the 128 or 64 meg? The prices on those are real reasonable right now. But I'm trying to hold off until either the G-4 4600 drops or Nvida comes out with a new affordable card that isn't as handicapped as the MX cards. I had bad luck in the past switching from Nvidia to ATI.

I wish UT 2k3 wasn't such a graphics pig!

I'm with SAL on this, I wouldn't buy any graphics card at the moment with some heavy hitters coming on the scene in the next month with the FX and R- and RV350 cards, in many different flavors. Even if you decided to get the same card you are considering today, for anyone, the card will drop again in price soon, IMO. I think they plan to offer an RV350 card, the upgrade to the 9500 pro cards, for $100, and will probably kick the GF4 4200 in the teeth.

Cool, I'm gonna follow yours and Sal's advice. Thanks all...
